A Greater Yes is an annual recovery retreat for men focusing on the transition from sobriety into recovery.
We still talk sobriety as it's a baseline for recovery, but the focus is taking sobriety
into recovery in a way that provides benefit for all stages of recovery
On March 6-8, 2026, we'll be gathering at Camp Valaqua in the beautiful Water Valley area, just over an hour north of Calgary, for a fantastic weekend of friendship and inspiration.
Whether you are new to recovery or a veteran there is something for everyone.
Enjoy a break from busy, take time to reconnect with Christ, and embrace God's love. Join us as we lock arms, dig deep into our hearts, and let creation inspire our growth.
Camp Valaqua is a private setting, ensuring anonymity and confidentiality for everyone involved.
Big Group Sessions
Gather together as a group to listen to peer-led speaker sessions focused on topical issues, unpacking what we mean by "A Greater Yes". We will tackle God's love for us, the obstacles to ongoing sobriety and recovery, and planning for growth.
Small Group Sessions
The corporate world would call these breakout sessions, we aren't that fancy. We gather in small groups to unpack what was shared in the large group, what it means to us as individuals, and how to apply that in life.
Personal Reflection
Grab your notebook and start some journaling time! Take the big group topics, small group sharing, and apply it to your own story.

Friday night snacks, meals on Saturday, brunch on Sunday and snacks throughout the weekend. The camp is a private retreat and we're self-catering. Bacon, pancakes, coffee, and meat, what else do you need? Ask the guys who have come before, we eat well!
Maybe, but big boys don't cry right? Or do they....(some manly men may or may not have cried at previous retreats).
Not really, you can get cell coverage depending on where you walk, but you can survive without either.
This is a recovery weekend and comes with all the usual requirements of a recovery group. We expect anonymity and confidentiality outside of the weekend itself, we expect respectful sharing and listening, and we expect guys to be respectful of the Camp hosting us.
(Yes, we know, expectations are premeditated resentments)
